i.e. a dealer gets cars from auctions, various places, he claims the reason he sells cars at kelly blue book recommended private party prices, is that he prices to sell, and wants stuff to move fast. its a fairly small dealership that’s been around a while, so I think it’s feasible he’s not a scam: he just wants to make $ fast and have a good turnover, build his reputation… if it’s possible for dealers to really get cars this cheaply?
and if you can truly make a profit that way, considering operating expenses

1) Say if I went to a dealer and purchased a car. They would normally give me 30 days tag. Am I paying for the 30 days tag here? Also, what about insurance? At this point how does the insurance work? I know within 30 days, you have to bring the proof of insurance to the tag office to get an annual tag.

2) What if I bought a car from a private seller? If the seller keeps the tag, what do I do? and how about an insurance? How does that work ? The seller cancel his insurance on the day of the sale, sign the title over to me, now what do I do? without an insurance nor a tag, I can not drive away the car.

3) If I was the private seller, why some say its better to keep the insurance on the car for a while after selling the vehicle? I am thinking that once I turn over the title, take my Tag off, take the money and I am done ?? why do I need to worry about keeping the insurance on the car for a while?

I recently Purchased a 2010 Toyota Camry, I bought the vehicle with a bill of sale and the owner told me he will pay off the car and send me the title within 2 weeks, I called him a week later and asked him how it was going and how soon i would have the title, He cusses me out, tells me he cant get the title and says do what you want with the car, So next Day i list the car On a local Classifieds site online mentioning the car had no title and i dont know how to get it, Cops show up at my door a couple days later take the car and tell me i cant sell a car with no title, Turns out the guy a bought the car from rented from hertz rental and sold it to me, The police are trying to charge me with Fraud Invalid vehicle title, possession of stolen property and fraud selling vehicle with no title, what should i do?, Should i come to my court date alone and explain what happened or get myself a lawyer, I lost money, And the guy who sold me the stolen car gets away scotch free, i have his id number and his name, and cops don’t care, Please don’t insult me for making a dumb decision, Can i go to jail over something so stupid and not straightforward?

I want to start going to the Car Auctions in LA, & buy little cheap cars & sell them on the street. Maybe make like $100 at a time, I want to know what do I need to do before I can re-sell a car that I have just bought. Do I need to get it smog checked, & registered even though I don’t plan to drive it?
