My old teacher was telling my class about a website where you put up a portfolio, and when you find a job you want to do, you apply for it, and the person will decide who they want to do the job. And at first people will only pay you like $100 to design something for them (like websites, logos, business cards, etc.) but then once you get really good and well known people will start paying you a bunch more money.
